What is funny, I have started learning German recently and I have a test next week Smile

. My classmates would like to go to Berlin to check our German:) I can't wait. I live very close to Berlin, so knowing German is very useful in my city, especially when it comes to looking for a job.

That's a very commom problem, I belive. You need to find a courage in yourself or motivation like finding a better job etc. Why don't you try to meet some English people via Skype? I think it could be a good start for you Smile

- you speak and write at the same time when you communicate via the internet. When my German is good enough I am going to do the same thing:)

My sister also used to exchange e - mails in Spanish with some Spanish people and they corrected her mistakes:) and remember - we can walk only because we felt 100000 times as the children Smile

Sometimes things that were impossible in the past are possible now. I didn't think I would ever learn how to walk in high heel shoes and now I can even run in them Smile

It's also very enjoyable and guess what - you don't have to do any homework! Dancing

I couldn't agree more:), those new methods of teaching are really good and you even don't know when you've learnt new things.

I do not like the Callan method, it's a bit of shit in terms of grammar and vocabulary. It doesn't teach you proper grammar. It is only good when you know the grammar, vocabulary at a proper level so you do not have to learn more of it and when you only want to practice speaking skill.
Monia, you can enroll one of the classes with native speaker or maybe better a speaking class. Once, I had classes with a group of 10 people at the age of 17-27. We did nothing but speaking course and it was much fun and laugh! Smile

I wouldn't agree with you - I have learnt new vocabulary with the Callan method. Grammar - yeah, it's not the best way to learn it, but Monia only wants to practice speaking. I think she's a litle bit afraid of it. That's what I did when I had the same problem - it worked for me!

my former flatmate was also afraid of speaking (she had only learnt English for a few months before we left) and after few months spent in England she would even argue with our workmates in English:)
